OdNowa Club
Among the festivals organised by OdNowa Toruń (said to be the only true students club in Poland), one of the most prestigious music festivals is JAZZ ODNOWA festival. Since 2001 in well known and respected in Poland and even abroad and from the the beginning people who organise it insist on combining local jazz classics with more ‘experimental stream’. The also take care of the variety of styles, which broads up to: acoustic mainstream, through free jazz, jazz rock, to everything else connected with jazz.
Trough the years the festival hosted many celebrities who derive from Poland, such as: Michał Urbaniak, Tomasz Stańko, Adam Makowicz, Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski, Leszek Możdżer, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Janusz Muniak, Wojciech Karolak, Piotr Wojtasik, Jarek Śmietana, Włodzimierz Nahorny and performers from USA and Europe – among others: Hiram Bullock, Victor Lewis, David Friesen, Giovanni Mirabassi, Peter Brötzmann.

Malta Theatre Festival
You should not miss an event that takes place usually in late June and early July – annual Malta theatre festival which takes place at many city venues. It hosts mainly modern experimental off-theatre performances, often taking place in squares and other public spaces. You can also count on cinema, visual, music and dancing events.
