A relatively new sport in Poland, there has been increased interest and some considerable investment in golf courses since the 1990's, so a golf holiday in Poland can be an interesting experience, providing relatively new courses, spectacular untamed settings and scenery, and enthusiastic players.

A few miles away from Gdansk and the coastal resort of Sopot is Postolowo (pictured right), Poland's most famous golf course, stretching over 7 kilometres, on sandy soils, surrounded by beech woods, oaks and pine woods, it's one of the longest golf courses in Europe and we recommend it for a golf holiday in Poland.
Postolowo is the main venue for the Polish Open Golf Championships, and European competitions have also been held there. Designed by course architect Jeremy Turner, with recommendations from the director of the PGA European Tour, Postolowo featues a magnificent lake which can provoke anxiety and delight, at times seeming alarmingly close to some of the more narrow fairways. The course also has a short hole circuit with practice facilities ideal for beginners.
More exclusive hotel accommodation is available in Gdansk and Sopot. Visit Sopot for sandy beaches and vibrant coastal resort atmosphere, choose Gdansk for the old city, birthplace of the Solidarity union movement and Lech Walesa.
