The highest mountain range in the Carpathian Mountains, located in the south of Poland forming a natural border with Slovakia. The highest point in Poland, Rysy, at 2499 m (8200 ft), is located south of Zakopane, on the border with Slovakia. The tatra mountain range is just 60 km long and 19 km wide.
Tourist attractions include hiking, winter sports and fishing.
The area includes a range of traditional mountain chalets as well as modern accommodation, such as the five star Nosalowy Dwór Resort & SPA or Willa Grand Karpatia.
