Venues in Poland were Warsaw, Wrocław, Poznań, and Gdańsk and in Ukraine they were in Kyiv, Donetsk, Lviv and Kharkiv.

Spain dominated possession in the final of Euro 2012 in Poland and their ability to control the game through their trademark tiki-taka style of play were evident throughout the match. Italy struggled to break through Spain’s defense. The victory marked Spain’s third consecutive major tournament win, as they had previously won Euro 2008 and the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Goals from David Silva, Jordi Alba, Fernando Torres and Juan Mata gave Spain a 4 – 0 win, David Iniesta was awarded man of the match.

To reach the final, Spain beat Portugal in a penalty shoot out, while Italy beat Germany in a thrilling encounter. After a goalless first half, Mario Balotelli scored two goals for Italy in the 20th and 36th minutes. Mesut Özil pulled one back for Germany in the 92nd minute, but Italy held on to secure a 2-1 victory after extra time.

Poland Eliminated in the Group Stage at Euro 2012 in Poland

Poland did not advance past the group stage. They drew with Greece, drew with Russia and lost to the Czech Republic.
